      Your chart

Tap two desks to swap them. Tap an empty desk to move a student there.

      How the chart is made
      • Rows. Row 1 is nearest the front. Any empty desks end up in the back row.
      • Pods. Desks are dealt out one pod at a time, so pods stay the same size or one apart. Pods of 2 make pairs.
      • Horseshoe. A U that opens toward the front. Classes over 24 get a second U inside the first.
      • Keep apart. In rows and a horseshoe, the two students never sit in desks that touch, corners included. In pods, they never share a pod.
      • Front. These students get the front row, the front pods, or the ends of the horseshoe nearest the board.
      • Absent. The desk stays theirs and is marked for today. Or leave absent students out of a shuffle to fill the room from the front.

Student view shows the room as students sit, with the board at the top. Teacher view turns it around, so it matches what you see from the front. Hand a substitute the teacher view.
