My Grade & GPA Calculator (Grades 6–12)

See where your grade stands, what you need on the final, and your GPA. Roji shows every step, so you can check it against your gradebook.

How does your class count grades?

Your scores

Grading scale:

Type the lowest percent for each letter. Your syllabus or gradebook has these.

Total points or weighted categories: which is mine?
  • Total points: every point counts the same. Your grade is all the points you earned divided by all the points possible. A 100-point test counts ten times as much as a 10-point quiz.
  • Weighted categories: the syllabus says something like “Tests 50%, Homework 20%, Labs 30%”. Roji finds your percent in each category, then counts each one by its weight.
  • Not sure? Check the syllabus or the top of your online gradebook, or ask your teacher.
How is GPA worked out?
  • Each letter becomes grade points: A is 4, B is 3, C is 2, D is 1 and F is 0.
  • Multiply each class’s grade points by its credits, add those up, then divide by the total credits.
  • Weighted GPA adds 0.5 for an Honors class and 1.0 for an AP, IB or dual credit class. An F earns no bonus.
  • Schools don’t all use the same rules. Some skip + and −, some give a different bonus, and some leave out classes like PE. The GPA on your transcript is the official one.
Why might this not match my gradebook?
  • A score may be missing here, or not entered yet by your teacher.
  • Your teacher may drop a lowest score, excuse an assignment or round differently.
  • A missing assignment may count as a zero in the gradebook.
  • If the numbers still don’t match, bring this page to your teacher. Asking is a good study skill.
